WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

 

In April, I looked at myself in the mirror and knew that I needed to make some changes.  I had been seeing a personal trainer once a week, but the results were not what I wanted, so I did some internet research to look for an alternative and came upon Hilton Head Adventure Boot Camp.  I liked what the web site had to offer, so I convinced a friend of mine to sign up with me, and thus began a remarkable journey that we've been on for four months and, hopefully, will continue indefinitely.  "Oh, Mom," my daughter said when she learned of my decision, "you know they will yell at you and belittle you and make you feel really bad."  But, I told her that Joni's welcome message said that was not the case.  Still it was with trepidation that I started that first camp.  Was it hard?  Yes, but Joni only gave encouragement and instruction; I was the one who pushed myself.  And I pushed myself because Joni made me believe I could achieve more than I thought I was capable of.  The workouts vary from day to day - there is always a new challenge, but it is a personal challenge.  I love the variety and the creative ways Joni comes up with to keep us motivated.  So, come and join us - if you think you're not in good enough shape to participate - I'll show you that you are never too out of shape.  The results are wonderful; my overall shape has changed, my stamina has increased, I've lost inches and pounds, and I'm hitting the golf ball further than I ever have before.  And, if you think you're just too old to start, consider that I'm about a month away from joining the ranks of Medicare, so come on out.  You have everything to gain and the only thing you'll lose is inches, pounds, and negativity.  And, as a plus, the nutrition information Joni provides is so important to leading a healthy life.

I went to my first boot camp in October 2008.    I went back in October 2009 and enjoyed myself so much and getting the results I wanted, I signed up for a year!   I have always enjoyed working out and I believe this is the best program out there.   I have dropped one dress size already and expect to drop two more to get me back to my ideal size.   I know this is totally doable with the help of Joni and this program.   Joni has all the qualities you want in a leader: she is knowledgeable about fitness, encouraging and 110% upbeat all the time.   She makes getting up at 5:00 am worth it.   I cannot say enough positive things about Joni and this program.   Adventure Boot Camp has helped me to feel so much better about myself.   Finally, the camaraderie with the other women that come to these classes cannot be beat.   So if you are sitting on the fence, jump off and sign up for one of these classes!   You will not regret it.

As a woman who has never exercised "on purpose" in my life, I felt it was time when I turned 40! I honestly signed up for one month thinking, "I can handle a month, right?" Well, I am headed into my fourth month and have to say I feel and look better than ever! I never knew exercise could be fun! It is definitely a lot of work, yet extremely empowering at the same time. We all jokingly call Joni
"The Energizer Bunny" because of her endless energy which makes us all motivated to keep going. There is nothing better than starting your day outside under the stars and then driving home to a beautiful sunrise knowing all you have accomplished already! Talk about energizing! Thanks Joni!

Boot camp gave me my life back!! I've been fit most of my life but when I turned 50 things began to change.   I started losing muscle and gaining weight.   I started boot camp in September and must admit my main motivation was vanity.   In six months time I not only looked good but I felt like a new person.   The changes were profound and the way I looked was minor in looking at all of the other improvements gained- energy, strength, posture, energy, balance, confidence, better sleep, did I say energy?... fun and friendship with a wonderful group of women.   I am doing things that I haven't done since I was 30! This fitness and weight loss program is honestly the best gift I have given myself. It is motivating, stimulating and challenging?everything my old routine lacked. It jumpstarts my day and I have met a wonderful group of women from all walks of life. I receive dedicated personal instruction. I couldn't ask for anything more in an exercise program. You need to do this for yourself.

After having my second child, I was not super motivated about working out. A friend told me about Adventure Boot Camp and perked my interest.  However, the idea of waking up at 5am to lift weights and sweat, only convinced me that my last 6 pounds didn't look so bad!  But, I went to check it out.  WOW!!!! I was so surprised. Not only was it a full body workout but it was so much fun! I love being outside; so much different than working out in a gym.  And the pounds and inches are melting off! I have to admit I was a little skeptical about something entitled "Boot Camp". I envisioned a lot of yelling and not the most nurturing environment. However, since day one of camp, I have been nothing but thrilled to wake up and hang out with my newly acquainted friends. After two camps, I have learned so many new exercises that have stirred muscles I didn't know I had! The biggest change for me has occurred in my arms, hips and abs. I feel so much more lean and firm. I'm into a size 4 and my energy level has seen a significant boost. So, whether it's interval training with weights or obstacle courses or games, I look forward to every morning's new adventure.

Awesome, is all I can say. This is so different than working out at the gym. It has motivated me to finally lose that last 10 pounds. Joni is fun, enthusiastic and keeps you wanting more. I'm addicted!!!

Adventure Boot Camp Rocks!    

It gives me energy, strength and endurance.  I lost 6 inches and 4 lbs all in just 3 weeks.  Joni does an amazing job at keeping you focused and how to work the muscles properly. I think this program has been a lot of fun and gets my day started the right way. Never a dull moment in class and the hour goes by very quickly.  I would give it a ten!

Wow! What can I say about Adventure Boot Camp. I can say so much I don't know where to begin. I am 32 years old and have tried many different things to try and get myself into shape. Including working out with a personal trainer that cost me A LOT of money and just ended up hurting my knees. When I thought about doing Boot Camp, the idea of getting up to work out at 5:30 in the morning freaked me out a little. Well, I am currently involved in my second camp. After the first 4 week camp, I noticed a difference in my body composition that I never had prior. I have never really had a weight problem, yet was never really toned either. My legs and butt were on the flabby side, and as I get older, I noticed it getting worse. Right now, I feel so good in my clothes - I can't believe it. People have noticed a change in my body. My hips had started getting little fat pockets on the sides and those are GONE! I am amazed at the results of the training that I have received.  I love boot camp and love what is happening to my body as a result of it!

I'm 60, and my friends warned me I was too old and too out of shape for something called "boot camp."  They were wrong, and Adventure Boot Camp is the best thing I ever did.  I look forward to my class, and I'm motivated to keep up with the other "campers."  Don't worry if you're not a fitness nut; Joni emphasizes safety and shows ways to modify exercises depending on an individual's fitness level.  I'm so proud of myself, and I've attended five camps so far.  Don't let age or the term "boot camp" stop you.  I'm in better shape than ever, and I can't wait to see how much better I can get.

I tried different exercise programs in the past; nothing seemed to work. I just wanted to lose some weight, tone up, get more energy than I had and feel better about myself. My first day at boot camp, I wondered what I was doing there.  I was sooo uncoordinated, I felt like the laughing stock.  But no-one was laughing.  Joni said no-one would judge me.  But I felt as though they had to be.  What a clutz I was.  I could hardly do anything!  My first boot camp was in February of this year (a lot of the girls had started several months before me and were really good)  I felt bad because I couldn't keep up with them.  Joni kept saying that it didn't matter, just work at your own pace and you will build up your strength.  That was hard to believe at the time.  But I just kept coming back because  the ladies and Joni kept encouraging me and saying I was doing a good job (which is really what I needed to hear)  Then after the first "weigh-in" (after 4 weeks, 3 days a week) I found out I had lost several pounds and inches. I really started to feel good.  At the next session, I was anxious and found myself competing with myself to work harder and do better than I had done at the previous camp.    It worked!  I just completed my third boot camp and will be going to my fourth.   It's addicting!  I love it and the support you get from the other ladies and Joni is unbelievable.  And you do find out that most started out like you did. You don't have to be embarrassed because you're overweight, aren't as coordinated as others or can't keep up at times, you work at your own pace and do you what you can.  Eventually, you will get stronger and better.   The main thing is that YOU will get healthier and more confident about yourself.  I know I have, thanks to all the ladies that didn't judge me and my wonderful trainer who loved and encouraged me.  You changed my life!   I'm forever grateful!

The Adventure Boot Camp is simply the best! I particularly like the variety of activities and the sense of fun that's built into the program. I really felt like I was getting the maximum benefit out of the program. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to improve their fitness and overall health.
